Introducing New Executive Pastry Chef Mario Tewes
Hotel Borobudur Jakarta proudly presents our new Executive Pastry Chef from Germany, Chef Mario Tewes.
After completing his Masters Degree in Pastry and Confectionery from Pastry College: Konditoren Fach und Meisterschule Iserlohn, Germany, Chef Mario worked his way up to Pastry Chef through an apprenticeship program in Germany, Switzerland, Kuwait, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He then moved to Asia, and worked as Pastry Chef in major hotels in Singapore, Taiwan, and Disneyland Hong Kong - his last post before joining Hotel Borobudur Jakarta.
Besides his formal pastry training, Chef Mario also had worked under supervision of some Master Chefs with Michelin Stars, such as Chef Thierry Marx in Hong Kong and Master Chef Bernd Janssen, an experienced Confectionery and Bakery Expert from the Netherlands.
In his spare time, Chef mario like playing tennis, reading culinary books, and hunting antiques.
With this talented Chef joining, Hotel Borobudur Jakarta has strengthened its Food and Beverage team and their products.
